In 2007 most of the video I embedded in Kabayan Junction was from youtube of beautiful pilipina slide show plus the post on Ellen Adarna then in 2008 there was one post about our youtube Filipina sensation Happyslip, now here is another youtube darling to love, in the beauty of 18 year old, Carmina Isabelle “Carms” Bautista Topacio; as the sound of her nick name is Charms she deserved to be followed for her Pinay beauty and talent.


There is not much written about her except in Eligio and Innerphets but at her a young age Carmina Topacio was already on 2008 Meg Face magazine and this year on Magic 89.9 radio station.

Kabayan Funny Girl a YouTube Celebrity

A popular YouTube star, not from the adult page, cuz she is a wholesome person, a self made internet superstar, not Ate Guy nor Manilenya, is visiting her mother country, Philippine. She is youtube popular star and funny girl Happy Slip or Christine "HappySlip" Gambito. She was nominated for best comedy video and won second on YouTube.

Watching her video is like watching the female version of Bitoy. A versatile Pilipina, she can sing, play piano, she write her spoof, direct and acts all in one. Her video's tackle the funny side of being Pilipino. She play different characters on her videos like:

• Christine, Gambito as herself.
• Claire, soap opera style drama queen and twin sister of Audrey. More of the evil twin. Repeatedly tries to steal her sisters's man. Likes popcorn flavored Jelly Beans. Uses fake British accent.
• Audrey, soap opera style drama queen and twin sister of Claire. More of the good twin. Doesn't like crunchy peanut butter. Uses fake British accent.
• Teenie, a sterotypical teenager... self-centered, text happy, loud and full of attitude. Teenie is a friend of Christine's who among other things has pet parakeets named Penelope and Precious.
• Mom, Gambito's sweet, but hapless mother. Has many quirkly personality traits and habits like brushing her teeth in the kitchen.
• Dad, Gambito's ever-snacking father. His catchphrase is "Dis-as-ter!" His favorite snack is pork rinds, but he has also snacked on nuts and chips.
• Auntie Babie Cruz, Gambito's aunt and Minnie's mother. Auntie constantly boasts about her daughter. Has small feet.
• Minnie, Gambito's shy cousin. Minnie is an accomplished piano player. Has online boyfiend, but her mother won't allow her to meet him in person.
• Lola, Gambito's grandmother. Lola is the Tagalog term for Grandmother.
• Sheila Smoot, one-half of the homeshoping show "Plop & Shop" hosting duo.
• Sally Smoot, one-half of the homeshoping show "Plop & Shop" hosting duo.

Characters not played by Gambito

• Kevin, Minnie's online boyfiend. Played by Kevin Wu (kevjumba)
• Fred, Minnie's presumptious and bad dancing suitor.

Her first video is Instant Vlogging and the rest follows instantly due to the positive acceptance of YouTube community. Her other Happy Slip spoof and video are listed in wikipedia.

The Ghost of Ellen Meriam Go Adarna

These are the most wonderful picture she published. What an innocent face! Enough reason to say that Filipina's have the most beautiful faces..even though they say she is from a Spanish and Chinese parents. It still won't restrict the fact that she is from the Philippine and that makes her a Filipina.

Last month i created a post on how to be famous the Ellen Adarna way (or Ellen Meriam Go Adarna). I never thought that aside from her face, that captured many critics and admirer, her name would also bring many search engine searches. Since i posted her name..the word/name Ellen Adarna is in my daily stat reports. Worst her name is second on top of my unique word hit.This is bad, cuz Kabayan Junction is not intended for her fans. After i month the name Ellen Adarna is like a ghost that's hunting me.

Anyway to help her admirer find her please go to her freewebs account Just be yourself. For the guys who want to meet her, she has a contest entitled "Your the Man!". She will personally choose the 10 lucky guys to become Guys for the month. See her instruction for details.

Not A Story of Ugly Duckling

A well loved story by Christian Andersen is the Ugly Duckling. Who have not heard this story? Be it from the books or disney's episode of cartoon movie, this story inspires humility and persistence in life. Life with all adversity; an effort of strength (like the ugly ducking) will someday end all all thing will become beautiful. This story stays with me until now.

Not all stories are like the ugly duckling. Like Angelica Panganiban! She is a loved at a young age, is was adored by many including her young innocent look. I watch her roles in Princess Sarah and comedy gigs in Ang TV. Her teenage life in Gimik (this was the 90's, also my teenage time). Showbiz have given her many recognition. But i never thought she could give more.

Like a caterpillar that becomes butterfly and a flower that bloom to give out it's smell and beauty. Angelica Panganiban is a butterfly with all beauty.

How to be famous the Ellen Adarna way

How to become famous? This is what many of our Kabayan wanted to be. They believe that fame is associated with good fortune. Fame may work good for many people like politicians, actors, artists, singers, athletes and ordinary people on their job place (also to bloggers)...etc.

One way of doing this (warning: do not attempt if you don't have the gutz) is like Ellen Adarna a girl nextdoor face. She made her fame by posting (she did it excessively) her pictures at Friendster, MySpace, forums, blogs, and many other sites now she is a sensation. She became an instant celebrity in the internet world...she is now the Philippines' queen of myspace. Adding to her fame is her appearance in the July 2005 and June 2006 covers of Candy Mag. (what a babe)

With all that publicity and follower comes the drawback of being famous...her pictures were distributed by stalkers, impostors (pretending and using her name) and video maker (this is the dark side of fame). She was banned from friendster thought if you search her name Ellen Meriam Go Adarna, the search would produce 20 plus account, all with the same name and her photo. Her blogspot address http://ellenmeriamadarna.blogspot.com was abandon because of many bad comment from other people, like this one:

"she ignored me and the next thing i knew she's a bitch u myt get mad of her..cos she's totalli mean..i was blind at first..but now i know who that girl really was SHE behind her beauty"..read the full comment here.

Wow what a bum?! The benefit and detriment of fame come in one package together. It is in the person's attitude in handling glory, be it good or bad....One wealth of advice "humble thyself to people you come across along they are the people you'll meet on your way back. (i'm not making any sense : )

Our year for Miss Universe

The famous line by the first Pinay Miss Universe "American's conquered the moon but a Filipina conquered the Universe" from Ms. Gloria Diaz, and after that the Miss Universe contest has been close to the heart of many Filipina.

This years Philippine will be represented by Anna Theresa Licaros a 22-year-old law student and a honor from her graduating class. That beauty and brain combine for our bid to the Miss Universe 2007 contest in Mexico City Wednesday, May 28, 2007.

Another Pinay at the contest are half bread Kirby Ann Basken (Miss Norway) and Angelina Glass (Miss Germany). Another fact that Filipina beauty is for the Universe to see.

It's good to hear that we belong to the top search site like London-UK, Frankfurt-Germany, San Juan-Puerto Rico, Bangkok-Thailand, Paris-France, Rome-Italy, and Amsterdam-Netherlands. This will certainly boost more visitor specially Western foreigner.
