GIMP (just like Photoshop) has many features including brushes, path, selection, color support, masking tools, effects, script and filters, it has a version for Windows, Mac OS and Linux to choose from. It have many version since it is still a work in progress better use the GIMP 2.2.x version, a stable version. Click here for download.
